Early Victorian / Civil War gown

This 1860's - inspired cherry jacquard gown is trimmed in coordinating iridescent organza swags and pewter crushed-taffeta chevrons, edged with cherry ribbon and plum-colored piping. It is worn over a corset, a five-ring hoopskirt, and a crinoline. The boned bodice dips to a deep point both front and back and alternates cherry jacquard and pewter taffeta bound in plum piping. The sleeves are double gathers of cherry organza, set off by small chevrons to match those on the skirt. The cost of the gown as shown is about $3000 plus materials.  Many other possibilities exist for trimming the skirt, and other sleeve styles are available as well.
